The most frequently misused piece of technology you use every day, in theory, is your smartphone. Carrying your phone everywhere—from the office to the park—means there’s a potential that dust, grit, and filth will get stuck in the 3.5mm headphone port.

You may swiftly clear any obstructions in the headphone jack by giving it a blow with a can of compressed air.

1. To facilitate cleaning tasks, tilt your Android device to the side.
2. Just barely fit the compressed air can’s straw into the port.

Repeat this procedure a couple of times to blow out any dust and lint that may be lodged in the port.

1. The headphone jack can also be cleared of obstructions using a cotton swab and cleaning alcohol that compressed air might not necessarily be able to remove.
2. In order to prevent the circuitry from being harmed during the cleanup, turn off your device before continuing.
3. Take a wooden toothpick and a cotton swab along with a tiny bit of rubbing alcohol.

Use the cotton swab to clean the 3.5mm slot’s interior, and then wait a short while for it to dry.
